DIY Recipe- Spicy Roasted Chick Pea Snacks

Lately I have been somewhat obsessed with chick peas (garbanzo beans). Not sure why other than it's something that my body is in need of. All that to say, I hopped on Pinterest to find some recipes with chick peas and came across the idea of roasting them. I thought this was a great idea because in those times of just wanting a few handful of salty chips or things that aren't so good for you, you can instead reach for these little guys.
Another option is putting them in your salad. I typically love chick peas in my salad so having them a bit jazzed up is going to be even better.
You can make them salty, spicy, sweet, or all of the above. Go wild with the options!
Here is the recipe I used, and I suggest doubling or tripling it since one batch won't be enough!

  • 1 can of organic Garbanzo Beans
  • 1 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper

  • Baking Sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • Measuring spoons

Toss the beans with all of the above ingredients and then spread evenly on foil covered baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then toss around and bake for another 15 minutes or until sufficiently crunchy :)
Here's what my first batch looked like.

So tasty and so good!

DIY- Gluten Free Facial Cleanser & Body Scrub

So it's no secret that have been focusing my beauty regimen to be more natural and organic. Well I have also been focusing my eating habits to try and be more Gluten free if possible. While looking up recipes on Pinterest I came across this recipe for a Gluten free Facial Cleanser which can also pass as a body scrub. For those who are extremely gluten sensitive or have Celiac disease, Gluten can be absorbed through the skin, so this is definitely something for you!

As many know Coconut oil has been all the rage lately with uses ranging from cooking to hair, skin, etc etc. Grapeseed Oil is also another handy thing to have around the house for multiple purposes. First off it's the less expensive of the various oils that are multi-purpose. It's a light oil so it absorbs quickly, and it's odorless. Just like Coconut oil, you can use this in your hair (great for dry scalp) and your skin. It helps regulate oil which is perfect for oily skin and it's filled with Vitamin C which is a big plus.

Here are the ingredients you will need for this cleanser/scrub:

  • 1 Cup Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 Cup of Cold pressed Grapeseed Oil (I am using a Grapeseed oil that I picked up in the beauty section of my health food store, however you can use the oil from the cooking section as well)
  • 1 Cup of Raw Sugar

You will need also:

  • Measuring cup
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Container with lid (I'm using a glass mason jar with a plastic lid)

Here is what it looks like all mixed and ready to go

I also have been trying out for the past few months oil cleanses for my skin and using Avocado Oil as a moisturizer, both which have really worked wonders. I came across these methods from a fellow Youtuber named Kassie and her channel CloudyApples

Day Seven- Aster Elliott DNA Detox Cleanse

After a week of doing this cleanse I have to say I am extremely pleased. I feel like it delivered all the things it said it would without paying the price of being tired and hungry all the time. In fact it was quite the opposite.I had more energy and was left feeling very full and satisfied after each meal and snack.
Some of the benefits I have experienced are:

  • Skin is more radiant, clear , and smooth. Not just on the face either but on my whole body
  • Better mental clarity
  • Better sleep
  • Lost some weight (can tell by my clothes)
  • Felt lighter
  • Not bloated (stayed regular and felt comfortable)
  • Increased energy

I definitely felt like the 7 days went by very quickly, and it really wasn't hard to follow or stay on it. The only withdrawal I had was from caffeine  I usually have a coke a day and so after the first and second day I started to get the typical caffeine withdrawal headache.
Something really important to me is taste. If the products tasted bad there would be no way I could continue for a full week, so I was so glad to have tasty morning and evening shakes. Also something I want to point out is that there really is nothing out there on the market like the DNA Detox, so I was extremely happy to be able to try it.
This is the dinner shake made with the Glamour Greens and Divine, along with some mixed berries. You would be surprised how this fills you up!

This is the Golden Broth/Tea made mixed with lemon and Braggs. So tasty!

Final thought is I would definitely love to do a cleanse several times a year. After seeing and feeling the benefits it's hard to not want to continue to do them. If you haven't tried doing one yet, I highly recommend it!
